What BMW says about it
Current status of the pre-conditioning of the stationary air conditioning before commencing travel at the time of data collection. The value “Inactive” may be transmitted if the pre-conditioning has not been booked or if the pre-conditioning is not active at the time of data collection.

In Home Assistant
BavarianData creates an entity called “Preconditioning state” for it, with the right unit and device class. For it to receive values, the descriptor has to be switched on in BMW's Data Selection; the setup wizard does that in one click.
