What BMW says about it
This value indicates whether the engine was active during pre-conditioning of the stationary air conditioning at the time of data collection. The value “Inactive” may be transmitted if the pre-conditioning has not been booked or if the pre-conditioning is not active at the time of data collection.

In Home Assistant
BavarianData creates an entity called “Preconditioning engine used” for it, with the right unit and device class. For it to receive values, the descriptor has to be switched on in BMW's Data Selection; the setup wizard does that in one click.
